History

Darryl Simmons is the owner & operator of Black Roots Training Academy/Black Roots LLC. Black Roots Training Academy was created to fill the gap between legal African American gun owners and African American certified trainers. BRTA creates an atmosphere of trust and accountability when providing training.

Darryl is a certified firearms instructor with the NRA, certified LTC (License to carry) instructor with the department of public safety(DPS) and certified RSO with the National African American Gun Association.

With the current political environment BRTA understands the need of specialized training and knowledge of the law.
